Common questions
What counts as a token?
A token is roughly 4 characters of text — about 0.75 words. Input text, retrieved context, and output text all count. A typical document Q&A exchange (1-page document + question + answer) uses around 1,000–2,000 tokens. The Starter plan's 500K tokens covers roughly 250–500 full Q&A exchanges per month.
Can I change plans?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. There are no lock-in contracts on Starter or Growth — pay monthly and cancel anytime.
Which AI model will my requests use?
Gilligan Tech routes each task to the optimal model based on type, length, and cost. You can see exactly which model handled each request in your usage dashboard. Growth and Enterprise plans let you set custom routing rules — for example, always use Claude via Bedrock for customer-facing responses.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. We use inference-only API calls on all four cloud platforms. Your documents, queries, and outputs are never used to train or fine-tune any model — by us or by the cloud provider. This is a hard contractual commitment on all plans.
Where is my data stored?
All data is processed and stored in US-based cloud regions by default. Enterprise customers can request specific regional data residency (e.g., EU-only) as part of their contract.
